The three Northern Talent Cup riders have been selected to take the next step on the Road to MotoGP™

Three riders from the inaugural season of the Northern Talent Cup have been selected to compete in the 2021 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup: German rider Freddie Heinrich, Hungarian Soma Görbe and Austrian Jakob Rosenthaler.

Dorna Sports has selected Freddie Heinrich, who led the way in the standings for much of the inaugural NTC season and won the first ever race in the Cup, to compete in the 2021 Rookies as Dorna’s selected rider. In addition, Soma Görbe and Jakob Rosenthaler will also take the next step on the Road to MotoGP™ as they were selected by Red Bull as part of the selection process for the 2021 season. Görbe is the inaugural Northern Talent Cup Champion and Rosenthaler a podium finisher in the first season of the NTC.

The Northern Talent Cup aims to give riders from northern and central European countries a new opportunity to further their careers and follow their dream of being a motorcycle racer; designed as a  stepping stone between lower level national championships and the FIM CEV Repsol and/or Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

As part of the Road to MotoGP™, there is a place in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup the following season up for grabs for the NTC rider Dorna deems to have shown the most impressive progress and/or potential. The first such rider to be chosen is Freddie Heinrich.

He will be joined by Görbe and Rosenthaler as their NTC rivalry continues in the Rookies and the NTC takes its place as a valuable stepping stone and platform on the Road to MotoGP™.
