A new era begins with Honda, with machines paired with each participant ahead of pre-season testing in April
As the Northern Talent Cup begins its exciting new chapter with Honda, a bike lottery to match machine to participant for the upcoming season was held at the MotoGP™ season opener in Qatar, with some star power in attendance showing their support to the Road to MotoGP™.
Johann Zarco, now at CASTROL Honda LCR, and Alberto Puig, the Repsol Honda team manager and Dorna Talent Promotion Technical Director within the Road to MotoGP™ framework, presided over the draw.
Why a lottery? To ensure maximum fairness and transparency, thanks to its random nature. The riders were randomly selected from one pool and assigned a randomly chosen chassis and engine from another, deciding which Honda NSF250R machine they’ll be riding in their quest for glory in the 2024 season.
The draws kicks off the final preparation period for the grid, with the Northern Talent Cup set to begin with testing in Oschersleben on April 6th and 7th. The first round of the season will take place in Assen alongside WorldSBK on April 19th!
